So Last Years...Illness: Bird Flu - Replaced by: Swine Flu What next? Bovine flu? Reptile flu? H5N1 was all the rage not long ago. I remember because Bernard Matthews had to slaughter more than 160,000 birds to prevent the spread of the virus, which was almost as shocking as the news that Turkey Twizzlers actually contained real meat. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that we all know about Swine flu now. Although it has been declared a pandemic, I fondly read a story in the paper the other day when a 12 year old girl from the UK caught swine flu and declared it was "no worse than a normal cold". Whilst that is not reassuring to people already frail from other illnesses, the majority of us have little to worry about.
